Another Day in Paradise!

Another day in paradise!

What a beautiful event, they had over 350 entries with big classes and tough competition! The cross country was challenging and caught me out on one of my preliminary rides, so I will be doing some home work this week! Looking at the results there was a fair amount of trouble in each level, but all in all it was a terrific weekend.

I had the lowest score of the weekend scoring an 18.1 on Karen Haeusler's Miesterwick, who finshed on that to win the Novice. Roy and Burn Smiths stallion Count Tolstoy just added a little time xc to his score, show jumped clear to place 5th in the preliminary, Sally Rosen's paint mare Celebrindal was 5th in the Novice and the great Ned Kelly finished on his dressage score in his first training! This horse has not had a jumping fault yet!

Gearing up for another big weekend at sporting days in 2 weeks!

Top Notch at Pine Top!!

Pine top was a top notch event! Perfect weather all weekend. The dressage went well, they had a great showjumping track.... big solid and colorful, which encouraged forward positive riding. The cross country was fantastic with plenty of open galloping between jumps. It was challanging but fair.

I rode Charlotte Collis Balmoral mighty Legend into 2nd place in the intermediate and Charish Campbells Frankie backed up from Sporting Days to finish on his dressage score and place forth in the training!

Firing up for Paradise this coming weekend!

Hope to see you out there, Ryan.

Results from Sporting Days!

Sporting Days was action packed this past weekend, and we were lucky enough to geta break from the rain for most of the day.
I was very impressed when Doug Payne filled in as a judge when they were in need of a judge for one of the training divisons. Good sportsmanship there as he
competed 7 horses during the event as well! The organizers were great, Mary did a fabulous job making the day run so smoothly!
Doug, Boyd and myself made up about 10% of the entries!
I had 7 horses competing, with a total of 21 rides completed by 3.30pm.
Frankie (Photo credit above Nicole Quinn), who I own with Charish Campbell, won hisOpen Training Division! I got Frankie in Aiken last year after he finished his racing career, winning almost $500,000 onthe track! I hope he can do the same for us in the eventing world.
Anne Rawel's stallion Avebury WF had a great start to the season as well, placing 2nd in the training. Roy and Burnie Smith's stallion Count Tolstoy was an impressive 6th in the preliminary. Karen Haeusler's Meisterwick was a very fancy 2nd in
Novice, the great Ned Kelly was perfect all day and 4th in his Novice, Sally's
Celebrindal was 2nd in Novice and Nina Gardner's Celtic Heritage had a solid run
finishing 4th in Training. Thank you to TPF for your help!
I'm about to read over my dressage tests for Pine Top, so I look forward to
seeing you out there!

It's a New Season!!

We are gearing up for our first event for the year! Sporting days is the kick off event for True prospect farm, and we have 11 of the 40 horses going to this event. I am riding 7 horses from novice to prelim. Im excited to get out and compete the horses that I've been training in the PA indoor for the past 10 weeks.  Let's show off what we have been working on over the past few months!

There is excitement in the barn and we are all ready for a big year of eventing.

We have cross country schooled a few times at full gallop and jumping branch and the horses are ready to compete.

I've included some videos of our schooling the horses at Jumping Branch & there is also a video of a young horse that I've taken from round pen to the dressage ring in 3 months.  Enjoy and I look forward to seeing everyone out at the events!  Ryan
