What a Weekend at Plantation Field!

Chris on Legend in the Bareback Puissance!
Compliments of Grace Darnell
It's amazing what can happen when a community comes together to put on an event.  Plantation field held a spectacular show for riders and spectators this past weekend, from the night entertainment with the band and bull riding, to the world class horse and rider competition and the very exciting bareback high jump contest!  The weekend was packed with excitement and brought our whole community together to celebrate our sport in the beautiful Cheshire countryside that is famous throughout equestrian circles.

Woodstock Eventing had a solid weekend with Frankie going clear around a seriously challenging intermediate track to place 8th among some tough competition.  Fernhill Classic was 7th in the Prelim ahead of my other Prelim ride on McLovin.  Charlotte and Legend jumped another double clear, and Chris rode Commanche, the wonder pony, to perfection going clear in the Intermediate.  We'd be remiss without mentioning that Caitlin had an astounding weekend aboard her new 3* partner, Remington, taking 3rd, and making us proud at Woodstock Eventing!

Woodstock Eventing is proud to be part of the Unionville community, which has pulled together over the past 5 years to grow this event.  Take the time to read this great article presented by Joanie Morris and the Chronicle of the Horse!  It gives great insight into the evolution of the event & the people who have influenced its' success.

Next event is Morvan Park.

SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT: EQUINE COMFORT PRODUCTS

Ryan has been graciously sponsored by Equine Comfort Pads for this past season and has been very pleased with their sheepskin saddle pads products!  They've recently developed a new Eventing Pad, and Ryan is eager to put this new product to the test at home during daily schoolings and at the shows!

A combination of high tech material allows horse and rider to meet and conquer the many challenges in the Eventing world.  The pad’s innovative design has a brushed cotton bottom and a non slip foam top with ½ inch of compression foam underneath and outer mesh on flaps making it a perfect combination that is moisture wicking, breathable, shock absorbing, and durable.  The non-slip foam with ½ inch of compression foam underneath keeps the saddle in place and protects the horse and riders backs from jarring impact.
Fits saddles 16.5” to 18”                                                                    MSRP $95.95

Loch Moy Keeps Getting Better and Better!

Woodstock Wallaby Wins his Training Division at Loch Moy!

What an event!  Every time we go to Loch Moy it gets better and better.  It has to be the premier horse trial in the USA!

We had 4 class horses compete over the weekend, winning 2 divisions.

Woodstock Wallaby won his first Training, which is his 3rd win on the trot!

Curran and Margy Simpson's new Irish import, Little Bennett, was faultless winning his first ever horse trial at 4 years old. This is one of the nicest young horses in the country.

Pat Rienhoff's Mikey had a great start to eventing by placing 2nd in his first horse trial in very good company.  This horse is a natural to the sport, shows ability to go to the top and is for sale!

Mary Hazzard's home bred Magic Replica turned heads all day with his magical coloring and jumped another clear round in the Training.

Thank you Loch Moy for going the extra mile.

For Immediate Release: Creation of Victoria Farms, LLC

For Immediate Release: Creation of Victoria Farms, LLC

Bennett’s Creek Farm and Woodstock Eventing are pleased to announce a joint venture in Aiken, South Carolina, named Victoria Farms, LLC.  The owners of Bennett's Creek Farm have purchased 20 acres in Bridle Creek, next door to Phillip and Evie Dutton's Red Oak Farm, and are in the process of building out a 14-stall complex which will house some of the top eventing horses in the country, including Fernhill Classic and Frankie, who recently ran the one-star at Bromont, and Woodstock Bennett, candidate for Novice Horse of the Year.  The barn is under design and construction by Rob Cahill of Equestrian Structures, LLC.

Breaking Ground at Victoria Farms!
From Ryan Wood, “This is very exciting for Woodstock Eventing as we will spend the winter months at Victoria Farms and will have access to some of the area's top training grounds at Boyd Martin’s facility, Bridle Creek Farm, owned by Ilene Boorman.   Across the street we will have access to one of the finest equine veterinarians and top-level riders, Dr. Kevin Keane.  We are looking forward to our new home, where the horses will come back north fully prepared for the 2013 spring season."

Please contact Ryan regarding securing a spot this winter!

LIMITLESS AT LOUDEN

Fernhill Classic wins the Prelim and Bennett Creek Farm's Woodstock Bennett stretches his lead for Novice horse of the year with another 1st place!

McLovin went down for a combined test and lead the dressage and SJ.

I couldn't be happier with Summit Sport Horse's Illinza and Grand Traverse, who both jumped fantastically!

Carolyn Cadier's Clapton cruised around yet again for a solid 5th place.

Frankie bounced back after a shaky last start with a bobble early on, gaining confidence as he went around.  A big effort for Charlotte and Chris going clear in the intermediate.

Thank you Stacy for doing a fantastic job as always-
Ryan
