Woodstock Bennett Wins Again!!

The event at Waredaca was another successful event for our young horses!

Bennett, a 5 yr old ISH owned by Bennett's Creek Farm, lead from start to finish adding no points to his dressage score of 20, winning by over 7 points!  Illinza, owned by Summit Sport Horses, was also in the Novice.  Lilly put in a super test, but had an unlucky rail in show jumping and a slight hesitation the water which cost us a ribbon.

This upcoming weekend we have the young and green horses going to the Plantation Starter Trials, if the aftermath of Sandy did not wreak too much havoc at the event location.  Most got through the storm in one piece, but we're well saturated & many are still without power!

Hope to see everyone out this weekend!

Tomorrow's Champions at Loch Moy Starter Trials

While Fair Hill was wrapping up with the show jumping we were at Loch Moy starter trial with tomorrow's champions. We had three first timers in the beginner novice with Chris Talley as their Jockey.
Popeye, Westphalian Pony Stallion
All are imported horses;
Mighty Midas owned by Charlotte Collis is a 4 year old Irish Sport horse Sired by Shannondale Sarco out a Cruising mare. Midas was bred to gallop and jump and showed huge promise cruising around without hesitation.

Next we had Popeye, the Westphalian pony stallion imported
from Germany as a dressage horse and owned by Summit Sport Horses, who is now making his eventing debut as the newest edition to team Woodstock. Popeye was foot perfect showing his bravery, talent and ride-ability.

Finally we had Shannondale Sergio (video clip above), a 4 year old Irish Sport Horse also by Shannondale Sarco out of a Cavalier Royale dam. He was brought over as an unbroken 3 year old this time last year after winning the 3 year old free jumping final at Millstreet Show in Ireland. He showed his class all day finishing on his dressage score for a top placing.

Next stop is Waredacca Horse Trials. See you there!

Chris Talley Steps It Up at Radnor Hunt HT!

Riders and owners appreciate the effort that goes into organizing
prize money at the only horse trials event in the USA.

What a great weekend it was at the Radnor Hunt Horse Trials in Malvern Pa.

Radnor HT put on a fantastic event and really got everyone in the fall mood. We had 2 horses in the Training with both horses putting in solid tests, but I felt the scoring was a bit high and both horses' efforts reflected better scores than they received.   Both Woodstock Wallaby and Grand Traverse jumped cross country really well, gaining confidence as they went along. Charlie Campbell rode his own Roosevelt in the Training division, putting in a great effort and finishing on his dressage score for 6th place.

In the novice we had Mikey, who put in a good test and jumped boldly and confidently to finish on his dressage score in 5th place. I also had Woodstock's Bennett in the novice, who put in a fantastic test to win the dressage on a 19!   We had one rail in stadium but still managed to hold on to the lead and capture the BLUE!

I'm so thankful to Ryan, along with all the wonderful owners, who have given me such a great opportunity to compete this group of wonderful horses while he is recovering.  Due to Ryan's help and training over the past year, he has helped make me the rider I am today, reaching each and everyone of my goals!

This weekend were heading to Loch Moy starter trials with a great group of young horses!
See you there and remember hard work DOES pay off!

Cheers,
Chris Talley
