Plantation Report from Chris Talley!!

Unfortunately we had a little detour from Bromont, as Ryan has a fall schooling at home last week and must to spend a few weeks recovering.  True to the sport of eventing, everyone pulled forces to keep Woodstock Eventing on a roll, as Chris, Stacey and the Woodstock team headed to Plantation last weekend.  Many thanks to Chris for sending in this great report on the weekend!
Woodstock Rolling Rock
While Ryan is out of the tack for a few days recovering I was fortunate enough to be able to take Four promising young horses to our home event at Plantation Fields Starter trial.

We had 3 novice horses head out, the first being Incognito owned by Linda Ledray. Indy showed what a bright future he has in the eventing world. After missing a stadium fence I was lucky that they let me continue onto cross country. Indy jumped foot perfect around the course, and has really come along way in the few months he's been at Woodstock Eventing.

Ryan had two of his own lovely young horses, Woodstock Rolling Rock and Red Handed Robbie, competing this past weekend. Rocky moved up to novice at only his second event and placed second after the dressage, which he added nothing to and took home the red. This is such a classy horse that is a serious horse for the future. He showed his beautiful and very natural way of jumping all the way around the course.
Plantation was the first event for Robbie, and he showed some serious talent as well. He lead his division from start to finish, jumping around like a seasoned pro! We are all very excited to see what these two young horses have in store in the future.

Finally we had Summit Sport Horses' Powell, who continues to WOW everyone at the events and remains unbeatable in the Novice.  He continues to show us how elegant he is in the dressage ring as well as scopey and powerful over fences. Powel is really a top notch horse who will be looking to prove himself at the Training level in the next few months!

The event couldn't have run so smoothly without the help from super groom Stacey, who also took out her own lovely and talented mare C'est la Vie in the Beginner Novice.   They finished on their dressage score in seventh place! Welcome to the event world Stacey, we know its a lot different than the hunter ring!

Were all wishing Ryan a speedy recovery and until next time,
Chris
