On A Training Mission!

Ryan is kicking off the year on a mission of individualized training and self improvement!  He has the strongest team of horses in his barn than ever before, and he is working on getting the best out of each horse and improving as a rider.

Ryan has been hard at work, knuckling down the dressage and show jumping for 2014 with a great team of horses, 4 of which will go Advanced this year!  He's been cross training with Silva Martin in the dressage and Michael Walton in the show jumping.

Collaboration and cross training with other professionals is going to pay off at the competitions!

Here's Silva Martin working through the advanced movements with Fernhill Classic.

First Event Of The Season at Full Gallop!

There was no holding back at Full Gallop with dazzling jumps and technical questions at all levels!
I rode 5 horses at 4 different levels, testing the memory of the jockey with 4 different tests and courses to remember.

Summit Sport Horses had 4 horses competing with Illiniza and Grand Traverse both in the Prelim, jumping double clear XC.  Popeye was out for the first time with Stacy, showing they have the potential to be in the winners circle very soon.  Ruby, bred by Summit sport horses and owned by Leane Haley-Brown, was at her very first show leading after dressage,  jumping double clear on XC and having a unlucky last rail to finish an impressive 2nd.

Ruby at her first event.
Curran Simpson's Fernhill Flame smoked the dressage with the low score of the event on a 22, also went double clear on XC and had 1 rusty rail to finish 2nd in the training.

Finally Shannondale Nimbus was the speed demon of the day adding 1.2 speed faults to his dressage score jumping clear show jumping and on XC.  This is one of the nicest young horses we have, showing his class in all 3 phases.

Solid training fences!

"I received a call from Equestrian Australia's high performance manager Chris Webb and Georgia Widdup, asking about my plan for Fernhill Classic after his top result at Fair Hill last fall. Once they heard he was a long term prospect they informed me they were listing him on the 2016 squad.

Equestrian Australia is on a mission to get its nation back to the world number one in eventing, sourcing horses and riders with exceptional results with the ability of winning medals at Rio.
Equestrian Australia is also very interested in a few of my other 2 star rides Frankie, McLovin and Dday.  We will be looking for these guys to be listed by the end of 2014."
