Thinking "Outside the Horsebox"

We're very excited to announce that Ryan has been selected as a blog contributor on a fabulous new  blog portal, Outside the Horsebox!

Created by an amateur American born rider, who's now living in the UK, Outside the Horsebox aims to pull together a wide range of rider blogs, event info and tips in one place for readers.  It's a brilliant concept and very well designed!  Hats off to Heather Daniels for taking the time out of her busy non-horsey career to come up with such a wonderful source for event enthusiasts!!!

Please check out Ryan's Page and also take the time to peruse the Home Page of the website to see all the contributors.  Cheers!!

Staying on Top at Pine Top!

Our Aiken winter season has already come to a end, with Pine Top being the last event for Woodstock Eventing!

We had a great event, winning the Prelim on Mary Hazzard's home bred Magic Replica.
Curran and Margy Simpson's Woodstock Bennett won the Training Horse on a 24 scoring the lowest score of the entire event!

Woodstock Wallaby
Mark and Linda Ledray's Woodstock Wallaby also scored a 24 in the dressage and after knocking 1 rail (due to rider error) we finished in 5th place.

Ilona English's Summit Sport Horses' Illinza and Grand Traverse both jumped around a tough Training level stadium and XC to be clear and under the time!

We are heading back north on the 28th of march catching Morvan Park on the way home with a few of the horses.  We have all had a fantastic winter at Victoria Farm. Thank you to Curran and Margy for this amazing winter training facility and to all the great owners and supporters for making this possible.

Cheers, Ryan

Videos From Full Gallop

Many thanks to Emma Lomangino for her excellence in videography and for joining our team this weekend at Full Gallop!

Tucan Tango (Commanche) and Chris

Charlie and Roosevelt

Ryan and Woodstock Willpower

3 FOR 3!

I rode 3 top class young horses winning on each if them this past weekend at Full Gallop!

Summit Sport Horses' Powell was turning heads all weekend, remaining undefeated in eventing, winning his first 2 events. I am very excited about this guy.

Sergio winning Millstreet in Ireland- now winning in the USA!
Jill Collis' Woodstock Willpower won his first novice event, showing his class all weekend. Will is for sale and is a great value for someone wanting their next eventing champion.

My own Shannondale Sergio showed off what he can do scoring the lowest dressage score of the show with a 20, h
olding onto the win and following in his big brother's foot steps (Woodstock Bennett).
Chris and Commanche- clear in the intermediate.
Chris Tally had a great event with his super pony Commanche, placing 5th in the Intermediate, and Summit Sport Horses' Pony Stallion, Popeye, was 2nd in the novice.  Holly Whitworth's Woodstock Cash jumped around faultlessly, also taking 2nd place.
Charlie Campbell had a solid performance cruising  around a tough preliminary track with Roosevelt.

Summit Sport Horses' Popeye 2nd in the Novice.

Everyone and Their Cat Were at Sporting Days!

Ryan and Sherry Stephenson's Bisou
Woodstock Eventing had a cold but fun event at Sporting Days, with 10 horses going and Ryan aboard 7.

Magic Replica, owned and bred by the great Mary Hazzard, stepped it up to Prelim this weekend placing 4th and jumping a super stadium round!

Mark and Linda Ledray's Woodstock Wallaby was faultless, placing 2nd in Training.
Curran and Margy Simpson's Woodstock Bennett lead the dressage, but had an unfortunate rail at the first jump dropping us to 5th.

Summit Sport Horses had both Grand Traverse and Illinza in the top 10, with both horses jumping superbly adding nothing to their dressage score.

Pygmalion Prince, owned by Sherry Stephenson, had the low score dressage score of the team with a 26 at his second Training event.  Murry was a little green in the stadium but stepped it up to jump a clear XC round.

Fernhill Classic did the CT Intermediate - He was 3rd after dressage and then jumped a super clear round in the stadium.

Curran and Fernhill Flame had a great event with a top 10 finish in a very tightly scored division!
Linda and Jett Blu also cruised around their first novice together clear and under time for a top 10 placing as well!

Finally Nikki and Woodstock's Little Nev had another clear Training under their belt, with Prelim not too far out of sight.

SAMANTHA CLARK AND EN INTERVIEW RYAN!

Many thanks to Samantha for taking the time to catch up with Ryan!  Great interview....

Catching up with Ryan Wood By Samantha L Clark on March 1, 2013 4:19 PM

Ryan Wood has based his Woodstock Eventing out of the Bridle Creek Equestrian Community in Aiken, SC this winter, and I caught up with him there recently, and cornered him for a quick chat.

Ryan added that both of the two horses he brought over with him from Australia and competed at the Rolex CCI**** on have been sold on to slightly less competitive homes but are happy and doing well; Koyuna Azgard was bred by the same breeders as Wendy Schaeffer’s Koyuna Sun Magic who competed there the same year, which is quite a considerable achievement for any breeder.

Having a lesson with Phillip Dutton on the talented but tricky Fernhill Classic
Ryan told me he’ll keep him at the intermediate level for at least a year to really make sure he’s completely established at the level.

Many thanks to Ryan for stopping to chat, and wishing him the best of luck this season – Go Woodstock Eventing!
