The Fork is always an exciting event to attend and ride at, with what always seems to be the best horse and rider combinations in the country attending each year. In past years, this event has had a bit of bad weather, however this year the weather was ideal for competing each day, making it all the more enjoyable.

Ryan rode five horses over the weekend, with three in the Advanced, and two in the CIC2* division. Fernhill Classic owned by The Fernhill Classic Syndicate performed a great dressage test, earning his best score to date at that Advanced level, but had some unfortunate rails down in the show jumping phase before putting forth a clear cross country round.
Mclovin PC: www.equestriancalendaraiken.com |
Mclovin owned by Bob and Heather Sinclair performed a great test as well in just his third attempt at the Advanced level. He was super all weekend adding just one rail, and having a great round on cross-country. He is proving to be a very good horse at this level, and it is exciting to see him continue to develop.

Frankie owned by Steve and Karri Guy also competed in the advanced division as a combined test over the weekend. He had a solid test with one rail down in the show jumping, and was unfortunately a bit foot sore on Sunday morning. Rather than risk his well being at all, Ryan decided it would be better for him not to run with the ground being a bit hard.
Woodstock Wallaby PC: Bob Sinclair |
The two star division had many familiar names in it and many top horses traveling to attend as well from the west coast, making for great competition. Woodstock Wallaby aka Joey owned by Mark Hartsch and Linda Ledray performed terrifically on the flat with a score of 42 in the FEI. He show jumped great as well, jumping double clean and only added a bit of time cross country to finish in 5th place in a very large class.

Woodstock Bennett owned by Curran and Margy Simpson also had a great weekend, being very obedient in all phases, earning a 46 in dressage, jumping super with a clean stadium round, and securing one of the fastest clear rounds of the day on cross country to finish in 7th place overall.
