Woodstock Eventing Wins Wire-to-Wire at Pine Top

Chusinmyconfession
Woodstock Eventing had a jam-packed weekend competing at Pine Top Advanced Horse Trials in Georgia. Ryan and his team made the hour drive each day to ride eight horses across three different levels over three days of competition. What started out as a drizzly weekend finished with sun and blue ribbons.

Ryan and the Woodstock Bennett Syndicate's Woodstock Bennett dominated the Open Intermediate-C division, which ran in a one-day format. Bennett was back out in fine form since his 8th place finish at Pau CCI4* in France last October. He scored a 27.1 in dressage to tie for the lead and jumped great in the show jumping despite one unlucky rail. Bennett enjoyed stretching his legs out on cross-country and galloped easily around the course to finish spot on the optimum time and clinch the win on 31.1.

Summit Sporthorses' Ruby had a fantastic weekend leading the Open Preliminary-B division from start to finish. She performed a lovely dressage test to score 28.3 and added no penalties in show jumping or on cross country to win on her dressage score. This is Ruby's fourth win at the level and Ryan is excited for her future.

In Open Preliminary-C, Mary Hazzard's Chusinmyconfession finished the weekend at the top of the leaderboard once again. Chusin scored a 33.3 in dressage and added one unlucky rail in show jumping. Ryan and Chusin powered around the cross country and were the only pair in the division to finish inside the time. Their confident and quick round moved them up the leaderboard to finish 2nd. This is Chusin's third top 2 finish since October.

Mystic Hazzard
On Saturday and Sunday, Ryan's team was quick and efficient in changing five horses in back-to-back Training divisions. Summit Sporthorses' Ben Nevis, Linda Ledray's Cooley Flight, and Mary Hazzard's Mystic Hazzard competed in the Open Training-A division. Ruby's half-brother Ben Nevis, had a great weekend to finish 3rd in a large and competitive division. Ben scored a 34.1 and added only a single rail to his dressage score to take home another top 3 finish. Cooley Flight followed right behind on a dressage score of 34.8. He added one rail in show jumping and no penalties on cross country to finish the weekend in 4th place. Mystic Hazzard delivered a solid dressage test to earn a 33.8 and 5th place after dressage. She jumped boldly around both the show jumping and cross country but unfortunately had two rails in the show jumping to finish 10th.

In Open Training-B, Curran Simpson's Tullabeg Dilson and Summit Sporthorses' Eiffel were consistent across all phases of the competition. Both horses added no penalties in show jumping or on cross country to finish on their dressage scores. Dilson performed one of his best dressage tests to date at the level and scored a 33.3 to finish 8th. Eiffel scored a 38.1 in dressage and finished the weekend in 10th place. Curran was also competing this weekend with his own Fernhill Flame in the Training/Novice division. The pair had great rides across all three phases.
