Woodstock Eventing at Essex Horse Trials

Woodstock Eventing traveled to Far Hills, New Jersey to compete at the MARS Essex Horse Trials. After a delayed start due to heavy rain the competition began on Saturday and ran in a condensed two-day format. The course was saturated and Ryan opted to withdraw his upper level rides after dressage and save their legs for another day.

Entered in the Advanced division, Ryan and the Woodstock Bennett Syndicate's Woodstock Bennett scored a 33.1 and sat in 14th place out of 38 combinations after dressage. Ronald Zabla-Goetschel's Sunny Boy scored a 30.8 in the Open Preliminary division to take 15th place after dressage. Summit Sporthorses' Powell and Ruby competed in the "Essex" Preliminary division. Powell scored a 26.3 and was in 5th place after dressage. Ruby scored a 28.1 for 9th place after dressage.

Assistant rider, Nicole Etheridge rode her own Rossini's Concerto to a 6th place finish in the Open Training division. The pair scored a 38.2 in dressage, had one rail down in show jumping, and went double clear on cross country. Ryan also rode syndicate owned Cooley By Design in the Open Training division. Ryan and Cooley By Design scored a 39.8 in dressage, had one rail down, and were double clear on cross country to finish 7th.

Tiana is a 2016 bay mare sired by Beaulieu’s Talisman. She is registered Oldenburg NA and has excellent paces with a super balanced canter. She has a willing attitude and is a pleasure to ride.
