Woodstock Eventing Finishes 11th at $50,000 MARS Eventing Showcase

PC: Jj Silliman
Ryan is on his way back to Aiken after an amazing weekend competing in Wellington at the $50,000 MARS Eventing Showcase. The showcase was a great opportunity to expose the horses to a high level atmosphere in preparation for international competitions coming up in the spring. Also, Ryan took advantage of his time in Wellington and rode with Scott Hassler during the week to prepare the horses for the weekend’s competition.
Dressage day was highly competitive with many of the United States top riders and horses competing in the 38 horse division. It was the first time that both the Rembrandt Syndicate's Rembrandt and Ilona English's Powell have been judged on their performance of FEI Five-Star Test B in competition. Ryan was pleased with how both horses performed and looks forward to improving their scores at their next outing. Ryan and Rembrandt scored a 38.2 and Ilona English's Powell scored a 29.5. On Sunday, Ryan opted to withdraw Rembrandt since he was out of contention for a top spot. Powell maintained his Top 10 spot after a lovely show jumping round and a single unlucky rail down. On cross-country, Powell jumped effortlessly around the challenging course to finish 11th!
Ryan was pleased with both horses putting in great efforts this past weekend. Coming up, Woodstock Eventing is set to compete at Paradise Farm with the Bellavista Syndicate’s Bellavista and Annie Dewitt’s Confidence Level. Stay tuned for a full report!
