Ben Nevis
Ryan took six horses to compete at Sporting Days Farm March II H.T. last weekend. Sporting Days is the oldest ongoing horse trials in Aiken and always presents inviting courses for horses to build in confidence. The weather couldn't have been better and it was a successful day for all.
In Novice Horse-A, syndicate owned Fernhill Domino was first after dressage on a 23.3. He had an unlucky rail but jumped double clear on cross-country to finish 2nd. Amy Peloquin's and Rick Krieger's Castle Cavalier scored a 33.3 after dressage in the Novice Horse-B division. Castle Cavalier's double clear show jumping and cross-country rounds moved him up the leaderboard to finish 4th.
In the Open Novice-A division, Ryan rode Ilona S. English's two talented half-brothers Ben Nevis and Ben Lomond. Ben Nevis earned a 24.2 for 3rd place after dressage. He moved up the leaderboard with double clear jumping rounds to take home 2nd place. Ben Lomond won the dressage on an impressive 19.2. He had two unfortunate rails down in show jumping but maintained his top 5 position with a double clear cross-country.
Assistant Rider, Maya Chinana also competed two horses over the weekend. Maya rode Frankie to a 4th place finish in the Training Rider-B division. She also piloted Ilona S. English's Popstar to 1st place in the Open Beginner Novice division on her dressage score of 22.2.
