Greetings From Aiken

It's been an interesting winter thus far. Ryan has imported a 17h, 6 year old ISH gelding from Australia, named Ned Kelly, named after the Australian legend, "Ned Kelly the Bushranger". The original Ned Kelly was the "Robin Hood" of Australian folklore, who the working class viewed as a hero.

In speaking with Ryan this week, he is extremely excited about this new talented young horse, saying that he's the most talented horse he's sat on in a long time, and he expects to Ned to become a top level competitor.

The first event of the year kicked off nicely at Pine top with two class 5 year old horses that Ryan is riding for Phillip. Both thoroughbred horses showed their class against the imported warmbloods, with Celtic Heritage placing 2nd & Count Tolstoy coming in 3rd.

To add to the excitement in Aiken, they experienced a substantial snowstorm.....which is a rarity in those parts. I'm sure it has melted by now, while the rest of us trudge through the snowdrifts back here in Pa.!!  Thank you to Ellie Rawle for these fabulous photos of Ryan, Ned and their lovely sire, Avebury WF.

Looking forward to seeing Ryan when he returns for his clinic at Watermark Farm here on February 28th.

Dig out that trailer and come join us. All of us are going to be rusty and the horses will be fresh, so come work off the winter dulldrums!! Please go to our website for more details.
