Three Step It Up At The Fair Hill CIC 2 Star!

Curran Simpson's Dday
Thanks to Steve Berkowitz for Photos!
Fair Hill put on a great show, turning up the heat for a perfect weekend.  I rode 3 great young horses who were all doing their first CIC 2 star:  Frankie owned by Steve and Karri Guy, Dday owned by Curran Simpson and Fernhill Classic.

Dday!
Frankie was the first horse in the 2 star, producing a super test, leading for most of the day and ending up 3rd at the end of dressage.  Classic put in a decent test making a few green mistakes and Dday was hot to trot sitting in the top 10 after dressage.

Frankie!
In the show jumping, both Frankie and Classic pulled 1 rail, then Dday wanted a second look at the first jump, adding 8 penalties.
Classic Form!
Cross country conditions were perfect - the course was tough but fair. Classic and Dday smoked around clear, but Frankie took an unexpected peak at the drop into water, picking up 20.

Many thanks to Steve Berkowitz for all these fine photos.
At the end of the weekend all the horses finished sucessfully, qualifing them for the Bromont CCI 2 star in June.

See you in Canada!

Plantation's Spring Event Didn't Disappoint!

Mark and Linda Ledray's Woodstock Wallaby
What an amazing venue to have in our back yard!   Plantation Field hosts national through to international horse trials, the Cheshire Point to Point, multiple fundraising events and is out the back door of the infamous Cheshire Hunt.  The rolling hills of  Plantation is steeped in rich history.

Plantation's spring event didn't disappoint.
More Woodstock Wallaby
We had fabulous weather with beautiful footing for the dressage and cross country.  I rode 8 horses, making it another busy weekend for the team who continually steps up to the plate to bring home great results!

Mary Hazzard's Magic Replica was clear in his 3rd Prelim placing 7th.

Mark and Linda Ledray's Woodstock Wallaby was a stand out all weekend winning the Training division.

Sherry Stephenson's Pygmalion Prince was faultless in the jumping placing 3rd in the Training.

Ilona English's and Summit Sport Horses had 3 horses, all of whom jumped double clear show jumping and cross country.  Powell won his first novice event and 3rd event on the trot and Grand Traverse had a solid performance placing 7th.  GT is going to step up to Prelim at the next event.

Illiniza had another double clear finishing on her dressage score for 8th place.
Illiniza Approaching the Water
Jill Collis' lovely young horse Woodstock Willpower had a great dressage and show jumping round before having an unlucky slip on a turn which resulted in a long walk home.

My own Shannondale Sergio was great placing 2nd to my other ride on Powell in the Novice.  Sergio is a serious horse for the future.

Fair Hill CIC is coming up this weekend.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the event!   ~ Ryan

A Blue, A Red, and We're Back in Pa!!

Ditch and Brush
What a way to end the winter season!  We competed at Morven Park on the way home from Aiken, arriving Friday afternoon in time to school them on the flat and walk our courses.

A Blue for Frankie!
Lucking out with a Saturday draw, we scored great weather and perfect ground for XC and completed all three phases by early afternoon.  Steve and Karri Guy's Frankie did the best test of his eventing career scoring a 28, adding 1 rail show jumping and cruising around the XC under the time to win the Open Intermediate.

Fernhill Classic stepped it up adding nothing to his dressage score to place 2nd in the other Intermediate division.

Charlie Campbell's hard work this winter paid off, piloting Roosevelt around there first Intermediate going clear!  Chris Talley and Commanche are still on form with another clear Intermediate

And Nikki Lendl finally got her first win on Woodstock's Little Nev in the training! We are now back in PA with Plantation Field up next.
