Carolina International Puts on a Top Notch Event

PC: Leslie Threlkeld

Ryan and Woodstock Eventing competed at Carolina International this past weekend, enjoying a spectacular Event for riders, horses, owners and spectators.

Ryan rode four horses in total, with Summit Sporthorses' Powell showing his talents all weekend long to finish second in a very large CIC2* division amongst many top horses, many of whom have competed at the CCI4* level! Powell finished on an impressive score of 44, and Ryan is enthusiastic about his potential success in the coming months.

Ryan rode two horses in a very competitive CIC3* division, Fernhill Classic owned by the Fernhill Classic Syndicate  and McLovin owned by Heather Sinclair. Classic put forth a lovely dressage and cross country, but unfortunately had a disappointing go on a very difficult show jumping track which took place on grass. Although Classic's weekend did not turn out as Ryan hoped, they both gained valuable experience, and will have some homework to focus on.

Heather Sinclair's, McLovin, stepped up to the plate, cruising around his first ever CIC3*. His performance qualified him for the Bromont CCI3* later this summer which is very exciting.

Frankie, owned by Steve and Karri Guy,
came back to the Advanced level after 12 months away, and felt fantastic, placing 9th, jumping clear on both cross country and in show jumping.

Ryan would also like to congratulate Jordan, who rode her mare Frenchy clear around their first CIC2*. This qualifies them for the Bromont CCI2* later this summer as well.

Thank you to the entire Woodstock Eventing Team and to all of our owners and sponsors for their support.
