Woodstock Eventing at Fair Hill International Horse Trials

Woodstock Eventing is back from a very hot weekend in Elkton, Maryland. We had a total of 12 horses competing at Fair Hill International Horse Trials. The organizers did a great job of helping everyone deal with the heat by shortening the courses and providing ice water to cool down - we are all thankful for their hard work.

Ryan rode three horses in the Intermediate divisions. The Woodstock Bennett Syndicate's Woodstock Bennett placed 5th in Intermediate-A. Summit Sporthorses' Powell and Heather and Bob Sinclair's McLovin did well in the Intermediate-B, placing 4th and 6th respectively.

Mary Hazzard's Issabella C led the Open Preliminary-A division wire-to-wire, earning a 23.9 in dressage and jumping double clear in stadium. Sarah Hughes' Shannondale Percy and Julia Jenkins' Vamos A Ver had positive experiences in Open Preliminary-B, and Ryan also rode Summit Sporthorses' Ben Nevis in the Open Training. Julia Jenkins' Atlantic Spring and Steve and Karri Guy's Lost In Ireland both finished on their dressage scores; Ryan and Atlantic Spring placed 4th in Open Novice-B, and Ryan and Lost In Ireland placed 6th in Open Novice-C.

Stacey rode 2 horses at Fair Hill over the weekend. She and Summit Sporthorses' Popstar finished on their dressage score of 23.5 to win the Open Novice-B. Summit Sporthorses' Popeye had an educational outing in Open Novice-A, with a 34.8 in dressage and double-clear cross-country round to finish in solid 10th place for his first competition back after standing at stud.

Next weekend, Woodstock Eventing travels to Laytonsville, Maryland for Waredaca Horse Trials.

Thank you again to Ryan's incredible owners, sponsors, and supporters for your support of Woodstock Eventing!
