Woodstock Eventing traveled to Wellington, Florida to compete in the $100,000 Land Rover Wellington Eventing Showcase. The reigning Advanced Champion, Summit Sporthorses' Powell and Reserve Advanced Champion, The Fernhill Classic Syndicate's Fernhill Classic were back competing in their first competition since the 2016 American Eventing Championships.

Dressage day was very competitive with many of the worlds top riders and horses competing in the 38-horse division. Ryan and Powell rode a harmonious test to impress the judges and move into 2nd place on a score of 26.1! Fernhill Classic put in a solid test to start the year scoring a 36.2.

Fernhill Classic jumped one of only 12 clear showjumping rounds inside the time to move up to 17th place going into cross-country. On cross-country, Fernhill Classic made quick work of the challenging course finishing in 17th place.

Unfortunately, Powell had some unlucky rails in the show jumping that put him out of contention for the win. Ryan cruised Powell around the cross-country with ease, giving him an exceptional ride to finish the competition in 20th place.

Ryan was pleased with both horses putting in great efforts to finish inside the Top 20 at their first competition of the year. This coming weekend, Woodstock Eventing will travel to Thomson, Georgia to compete at Pine Top Farm.

Thank you to Ryan's incredible team, owners, sponsors, and supporters that make it all possible!
