Woodstock Eventing at Carolina International CIC & Horse Trials


Over the weekend, Woodstock Eventing traveled to Raeford, North Carolina to compete at the Carolina International CIC & Horse Trials. Ryan stayed busy competing horses from Advanced to the Preliminary level. 


Ryan competed the Fernhill Classic Syndicate's Fernhill Classic in the highly competitive Advanced division. The pair scored a 39.7 in the dressage and jumped around Ian Stark's big cross-country track without error only picking up several time penalties. Ryan and Classic went on to jump around Marc Donovan's tough show jumping course with one unlucky rail down to finish in 12th place. 

In the Open Intermediate division, Ryan rode Summit Sporthorses' Powell who scored a 28.3 in the dressage and jumped boldly around the cross-country track. On the final day, the pair jumped a double clear show jumping round to finish in 13th place. 



Curran Simpson's RF Cosmos and Sarah Hughes' Alcatraz traveled to compete in the Open Preliminary combined test. Alcatraz made a successful return to the show ring sitting in 3rd place after the dressage on a score of 27.8 followed by a clear show jumping round. RF Cosmos had a successful outing in his Preliminary level debut, scoring a 37.2 in the dressage with one unfortunate rail down in the show jumping.


Woodstock Eventing has returned to their spring and summer facility at True Prospect Farm in Cochranville, Pennsylvania. Next, Ryan and his team will travel to Elkton, Maryland to compete at Fair Hill International Horse Trials.
