Our team has been very busy beginning to prepare the horses for upcoming spring events. We got our first taste of spring weather here in Aiken this past week and competed at Paradise Farm Horse Trials on Friday and Highfields jumper show on Sunday in balmy 75-degree weather.

Curran Simpson’s Fernhill Flame brought home the blue in the Open Preliminary on his dressage score of 29.4. Flame recently moved up to Prelim at Sporting Days Farm and this marks his second consecutive win at the level. Steve and Karri Guy’s Lost in Ireland also finished in the ribbons in 5thplace on a final score of 31.5.

I also rode three in the Open Training division. Summit Sporthorses’ Ben Nevis finished the day on a 29.5 in 5th, Mary Hazzard’s Chusinmyconfession on 35.7 in 8th, and Cheryl Gamboney’s Gambado finished with a score of 43.8 in 13th.
