Woodstock Eventing's Weekend Wrap Up

PC: Cindy Lawler
Last weekend was a busy one for Woodstock Eventing. Ryan competed at both the $50,000 LiftMaster Grand-Prix Eventing competition as well as Sporting Days Farm Horse Trials in Aiken. Grand-Prix Eventing kicked off on a very wet Friday morning with dressage. Ryan rode the Woodstock Bennett Syndicate's Woodstock Bennett who he has produced from a four-year-old to a competitive 5* horse. Ryan and Bennett performed a solid test to earn a 35.1. That same afternoon the pair jumped a brilliant show jumping round only to have a very unlucky rail at the final fence. Ryan was pleased with Bennett's performance and how well he remained all business even with the high level of atmosphere and large crowds surrounding the arena. Click here (2:32:00) to watch their dressage test and here (1:00:35) to watch their show jumping round.

After wrapping up the Grand-Prix Eventing competition on Friday evening, Ryan turned his focus to Sporting Days Farm. On Saturday, he rode Monique Sanchez's Cooley Shutterfly Cruise, Amy Peloquin's Cooley Titanium, and Curran Simpson's Oberon Van Heiste. In Open Novice-A, Cooley Shutterfly Cruise scored a 31.9 in dressage, had one rail down in show jumping, and added no penalties on cross country to finish 8th. Cooley Titanium finished on his dressage score of 36.2 for 8th place in Open Novice-B. Oberon Van Heiste also finished the competition on his dressage score of 31.4 in 6th.

Gambado delivered a great dressage test to score a 29.8 to tie for 4th after dressage. He had an unlucky rail and added no penalties on cross country to finish 11th.
