Woodstock Eventing is back from a busy weekend at Fair Hill International Horse Trials in Elkton, Maryland. Ryan had a great event with seven horses: Cooley By Design, Zempat, Ben Nevis, The Optimist, Cooley Shutterfly Cruise, Ascot Girl, and Carmella.
In the Open Training divisions, Ryan rode syndicate owned Cooley By Design, Julia Strawbridge's Zempat, and Summit Sporthorses' Ben Nevis. Cooley By Design scored a 34.3 in dressage and finished the weekend in 12th place. Zempatscored a 41 in dressage and added no penalties to finish the competition in 11th. In Open Training-C, Ben Nevis performed one of his best tests to date and earned a score of 23.6. Ryan and Ben added no penalties to their dressage score and finished 2nd.
The Novice level horses stepped up to the plate and had a great weekend finishing the challenging courses on their dressage scores and with top placings. The Optimist owned by Julia Strawbridge finished the weekend in 2nd on a score of 31.9 and Monique Sanchez's Cooley Shutterfly Cruise finished 6th on score of 33.1. Julia Strawbridge's Ascot Girl led after dressage on a 29.1 and finished 7th in her eventing debut. Carmella also owned by Julia Strawbridge, delivered a beautiful test to score a 25.7 in dressage and added no penalties to finish the weekend in 2nd place. Curran Simpson had a great weekend showing his own RF Cosmos in the Open Novice-A division. Curran and Cosmos finished the weekend in 8th on a score of 34.7.
Coming up next, Ryan is looking forward to competing four horses at The Virginia Horse Trials this weekend.
