Ryan and Team Woodstock Eventing are back from their winning weekend at Fair Hill International August Horse Trials! Ryan rode 6 horses from Novice through Intermediate and took home 3 first place finishes. Every horse continues to improve and Ryan was thrilled with each of their performances.

Woodstock Eventing horses were unbeatable in the Open Intermediate divisions! Ryan took home the blue riding Summit Sporthorses’ Powell and Mary Hazzard’s Chusinmyconfession. Ryan and Powell led the Open Intermediate A division from start to finish. They delivered a beautiful dressage test to earn a 28 which put them in the lead by 4 points from the start. Chusin scored a 30.9 in dressage, jumped clear in show jumping and was the fastest horse across the country in her division.

Ryan rode syndicate owned, Cooley Flight and Julia Strawbridge’s Carmella in the Preliminary divisions. Cooley Flight continues to impress and scored a 34.8 in dressage and jumped clear around his third Preliminary level event to finish 7th. In Open Preliminary C, Carmella delivered one of her best dressage tests at the level and finished the event in 2nd place on her dressage score of 27.
Julia Strawbridge was also out competing her own Balmoral Oakley in the same division. She had two lovely double clear jumping rounds to finish 4th on her dressage score of 31.5.

The lower level horses proved once again how much talent they have with great performances all weekend. Julia Strawbridge’s The Optimist had great dressage test scoring a 27.3, and followed it up with two double clear jumping rounds to finish 1st in the Open Training A division! Ryan also piloted Julia Strawbridge’s Insuspense in the Open Novice A division. Insuspense scored a 28.1 in the dressage and finished strong with double clear jumping rounds to take home 3rd place. Curran Simpson also competed his own Fernhill Flame last weekend. Curran had great rides all weekend to finish 9th in the Open Novice C division.

Coming up next, Ryan is looking forward to traveling to the Kentucky Horse Park to compete at the 2019 American Eventing Championships! Stay tuned for updates and a full report!
