Woodstock Eventing Wins at the Horse Park of New Jersey Horse Trials II

Ben Nevis

Ryan and Team Woodstock Eventing are back from their winning weekend at the Horse Park of New Jersey. Ryan rode 7 horses from Novice through Intermediate, took home 3 first place finishes, and 4 top ten finishes. Each horse continues to improve and Ryan was thrilled with each of their performances.

Woodstock Eventing horses were unbeatable in the Open Novice divisions. Ryan took home the blue riding Ilona S. English’s full brothers Ben Nevis and Ben Lomond. Both horses led the Open Novice A & B divisions from start to finish. Ben Nevis delivered a beautiful dressage test to earn a 28.3 and Ben Lomond scored an impressive 24.5. They both jumped double clear to take home the blue in their respective divisions. Julia Strawbridge’s The Optimist was also unbeatable in the Modified A division. The Optimist delivered a score of 28 in dressage and followed it up with two double clear jumping rounds to take the win!

Ryan piloted Stacey Driscoll's Smetana to an 8th place finish in the Open Novice B division on a dressage score of 36.7. In the Intermediate, Ryan rode Linda Ledray's Cooley Flight and Mary Hazzard’s Chusinmyconfession. Cooley Flight continues to impress and scored a 31.6 in dressage and jumped clear to finish 5th. In Open Intermediate B, Chusin scored a 40.5 in dressage, had one rail down in show jumping, and jumped boldly around cross country to finish 8th. Bellavista owned by the Bellavista Syndicate also delivered a top ten finish in the Open Preliminary C division. Bellavista scored a 34.8 in dressage and jumped well to finish in 8th place.

Coming up next, Ryan is looking forward to traveling to Maryland to compete at Olney H.T. this Sunday. Stay tuned for updates and a full report.
