Final Finish at 2013 Va Horse Trials!

Virginia Horse Trials was our final event for the year with Ryan riding 6 horses - 2 in the Prelim, 3 in the 1* and one in the 2*.

Brian and Penny Ross put on an amazing event with great organization and officials who worked with the riders to make it the best event for everyone involved.
John Williams designed a great XC track, rewarding positive riding and keeping the horse and rider honest to the end if the course.

Heather Sinclair's Mclovin (pictured above) was his reliable self, jumping around the XC clear to finish in 4th place.

Bennett's Creek Farm took home the blue in the 1* with Woodstock Bennett leading from start to finish - galloping around the xc course strong  and 18 seconds under the time. We are very excited about Bennett's future and thrilled with his win!

Magic Replica, owned and bred by Mary Hazzard, stepped it up to place 7th in his first 1*.

Woodstock Wallaby, owned by Mark and Linda Ledray, was having a fantastic round and impressing me with his galloping when we departed company at the 3rd last fence. Joey is a very talented young horse and we are excited for his future and will be back at the 1* in the spring.

Grand Traverse and Illiniza, owned and bred by
Summit Sport Horses / Ilona English, both had a great event finishing on their dressage scores placing 2nd and 7th in the Prelim.

Check out all the great photos by Bob Sinclair on our Facebook page!

The 2013 season is coming to an end and Woodstock Eventing has had a fantastic year!  With 131 starts and 21 wins, none of this would have been possible without the entire team at Woodstock Eventing.  I owe a huge thank you to my owners and supporters, sponsors (Smartpak, Purina, ECP and Stubben) and the entire team who works so hard behind the scenes to pull off great results at each competition.

We're looking forward to a little down time before getting prepped for our annual winter migration to Aiken.  Curran and myself are headed to Aiken next weekend to meet with the builder to plan some new additions for our winter destination at Victoria Farm.

Stay tuned!   ~Ryan
