Woodstock Eventing Competes at Plantation Field June Horse Trial

Since returning from Ireland after finishing 17th in The Irish Field CCI3* at Tattersalls International Horse Trials, Ryan and his team were back out competing at the Plantation Field June Horse Trial. Ryan rode eight horses this past weekend while coaching students across divisions. He is excited about the strong string of promising horses he has for the future and is looking forward to more successful competitions with his young horses like this one.

In the Open Preliminary division, Ryan took home 2nd place aboard Ruby owned by Summit Sporthorses. Ruby earned a 26.5 in dressage and jumped a beautiful double clear in both jumping phases to hold on to 2nd place. Ben Nevis, also owned by Summit Sporhorses, made his Preliminary level debut. He added only 0.8 time penalties on cross-country to his dressage score of 27.6, and finished right behind his sibling in 3rd. Ryan's assistant Cole Horn, finished 4th on a final score of 30.8 aboard his own Cooley Sligo. Mary Hazzard's mare Chusinmyconfession added only a single rail to her dressage score of 27 to finish 6th in the competitive division.

Owner Julia Strawbridge swept the Open Training-A division with her own Balmoral Oakey, separating herself from the rest of the competition and holding onto the lead by 3.3 points. Ryan rode Julia Strawbridge's Atlantic Spring and Linda Ledray's Billy McClusky in the Open Training-A division. Atlantic Spring finished in 3rd on his dressage score of 31.7 and Billy McClusky finished in 4th adding one rail to his dressage score of 28.1. In Open Training-B, Julia Strawbridge's Zempat finished 6th on his dressage score of 32.9. Cheryl Gamboney's Gambado did the Training combined test and scored a 33.3 in dressage.

Dr. Kevin Keane's young horse HH Ontario performed well in his third competition since arriving to the United States. HH Ontario had a great dressage test to score a 27.6 and jumped clear to finish the Open Novice division in 2nd place. Cole Horn rode Summit Sporthorses' Popstar to a 3rd place finish on a dressage score of 27.6.

Coming up next, Woodstock Eventing will travel to Bucks County Horse Park H.T. in Revere, PA.

Thank you to Woodstock Eventing's incredible team, owners, sponsors, and supporters that make it all possible!
