Woodstock Eventing: Woodstock Eventing at Plantation Field International Horse Trials

Woodstock Eventing had a great weekend at Plantation Field International Horse Trials. Ryan is grateful to be based just down the road from this top-class venue where he can successfully produce and prepare his horses. All of the horses were in excellent form over the weekend and Ryan is looking forward to more successes.

Ryan rode Summit Sporthorses’ Powell and Rembrandt in the highly competitive CCI3-S* division with a field of 75 horses. Powell performed a great dressage test to score a 30.1 and moved up the leaderboard into 4th place after jumping a beautiful clear round in show jumping. Ryan decided to withdraw Powell from cross-country and save him for another day.

Rembrandt is a 11-year-old Selle Francais x Thoroughbred gelding and the newest addition to Ryan’s upper level string. The pair scored a 39.7 in dressage, had one rail down in show jumping, and jumped boldly and clean around cross country to finish in 31st place. Rembrandt shows great potential and Ryan is looking forward to an exciting future with this talented horse. Ryan rode Summit Sporthorses’ Ruby in the CCI2*-S division. Ruby delivered a solid performance across all three phases. She scored a 31.5 and galloped easily around the challenging cross-country course to come home double clear. On Sunday, she jumped a faultless show jumping round to finish 7th in a field of 49 horses. It was also a fantastic weekend for Woodstock Eventing owner, Julia Strawbridge. Julia had great success riding her own Balmoral Oakey in the CCI3*-S division. The pair finished the weekend in 4th on their dressage score of 29.5!
